Abstract


Job stress is a feeling of pressure experienced by employees in dealing with their work as a result of an imbalance between individual characteristics and the demands of the job and the environment that has an impact on the behavior and physical and psychological conditions of the employee. Support from co-workers can affect one's perception of the work environment. This study aims to determine the relationship between co-workers' social support and work stress experienced by Non-Cash Operational Department workers at Gedung D Sentra Mandiri. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study is the Non- Cash Operational Department workers, amounting to 65 people. The sample used in this study amounted to 55 people who were selected using a total sampling technique with the exclusion criteria of workers who had become respondents in the preliminary study that had been carried out previously. Collecting data using primary data obtained from the interview process using the New Job Stress Scale questionnaire developed by Shukla and Srivastava. The results showed that there were 23 workers (41.8%) who experienced work stress and 32 workers (58.2%) who did not get social support from their co-workers. The results of the Chi-Square test showed that there was no relationship between co-workers' support (p value=0.240) and work stress experienced by Non-Cash Operational Department workers. The author suggests that companies can facilitate workers to be able to establish better communication between workers which can be done through online meetings
